Salaries in public sector might be capped in Moldova

Chisinau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs today approved, in the first reading, a draft on the amendment of the law on the single salary payment system in the public sector and the law on salary payment. The law’s goal is to cap the salaries in the public sector.
The legislative initiative belongs to the lawmakers of the ACUM Faction, Dignity and Truth Platform and envisages that the monthly salary of the staff from the public sector units cannot exceed three average salaries on the economy.
At the same time, the draft sees that the personnel from the public sector units, who represents the state in commercial societies, in which it holds contribution shares, including those nominated at the leadership councils of these enterprises, cannot benefit from certain additional payments for the work carried out.
Also, the draft sees that the remuneration of the work of the employees from the units with financial autonomy, which benefit from budgetary contributions, cannot exceed three average salaries on the economy.
