Rapid testing of residents to be extended in information centres on COVID-19 in Moldova

Chisinau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS) will organize the detaching of one medical employee to those 15 information centres on Covid-19 from Moldova each, who will deal with rapid testing of residents. Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today made statements to this effect, after he had chaired a meeting of the single command centre of the emergency state.
„These 15 COVID-19 information centres have proved that they represent a quite beneficial thing. Or, besides the work of the employees of the Interior Ministry, General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations at these centres, the participation of a medical specialist will be welcome, which would allow extending the number of citizens who might make their rapid test, to identify the new-type coronavirus,’’ the acting PM said.
According to the official, for the moment, there are the needed stocks of rapid tests; yet, if they are eventually not enough, the government will buy a new consignment of tests.
Also, the acting prime minister warned the population to prove responsibility and discipline in the next week-end. In the context, Aureliu Ciocoi stressed that, on the days off, the law-enforcement bodies with right of control would boost the monitoring of the observance of the sanitary regime and the provisions of the Commission for Emergency Situations.
In the last 24 hours, 5,799 tests have been processed in Moldova and 910 new cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which two import ones. Thirty two deaths were recorded today. As many as 240,056 cases of COVID-19 cases and 5,339 deaths have been registered in Moldova so far.
