Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/- A number of 68902 people, representing over 2% percent of the country's population, were vaccinated against COVID-19.
The management of the National Public Health Agency announced today that in the six weeks of vaccination, 60 percent of the health care workers and about 30 percent of the employees and beneficiaries of the placement centers were immunized.
So far, 112970 doses of vaccine have reached Moldova, of which 86400 were AstraZeneca, 24570 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech and 2000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine. Over 73 percent of the AstraZeneca batches were used, and 99 percent of the doses were administered from the Pfizer-BioNTech batch.
The vaccination campaign began to give the first results, with a decrease in morbidity among medical workers. Thus, the authorities recommend that immunization be continued with all available vaccines.
Since 2 March over 1000 post-immunization events have been monitored in the country, the vast majority have been mild side effects including fever and muscle pain.
All vaccinated persons are recorded in the electronic vaccination register.
