Romania to deliver new donation of vaccine to Moldova

Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/ - The government of Romania today approved the providing of another 132,000 doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccine to Moldova for free.
Under the Romanian cabinet’s decision, the latter stipulates the providing of a humanitarian assistance free of charge to the National Public Health Agency of Moldova, in order to manage the fight against COVID-19, as a result of the activation of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
Thus, a number of 132,000 vaccine doses, out of the number of doses purchased by the Romanian Health Ministry and delivered by the AstraZeneca Company, will be allocated for Moldova. The ensuring of the transport of the vaccine doses will be made through the Department for Emergency Situations – General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations – strictures within the Interior Ministry from Romania.
Romania delivered to Moldova a consignment of 21,600 doses of anti-COVID vaccine on 27 February 2021. And another 50,400 vaccine doses were donated on 27 March.
