As many as 403 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 18 April /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 2,920 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 403 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which one import case. As many as 245,897 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 5 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians – 1, medical assistants –4.

As many as 2,790 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 263 are in extremely serious condition (55 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 5,104 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 16,061 are under supervision at home.

Another 1,145 people have been treated. As many as 231,235 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 23 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 5,571 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus also killed a physician pharmacist and head of the pharmaceutical service of the Republican Clinical Hospital. As many as 112 medical employees have died because of the COVID-19 infection till present.
