Chisinau, 22 April /MOLDPRES/ - The new chief military head of the military contingent of the Peacekeeping Forces on behalf of Moldova, colonel Vadim Cemirtan today was introduced at a meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The OSCE mission replaced its representative in JCC; Tiraspol’s delegation supplemented its composition by one expert and Russia delegated a new military observer.
In the context of the staff reshufflings in the Joint Military Command (CMI) (a new head of the military contingent on behalf of Russia and a new head of the CMI general staff have been recently appointed), the Commission highlighted the need to focus on the identification of solutions to topical problems from the Security Zone and to act in accordance with the constituent acts of the mission at Dniester.
Moldova’s delegation asked the leadership of the Joint Military Command to enforce the JCC decision from 24 September 2020 on the work of this structure during the pandemic, when Tiraspol’s representatives were blocking the movements of the military observers for the regulatory documentation of posts and the artificial fences illegally set. This blockage triggered the non-signing and non-approval of the weekly reports of military on the situation in the Security Zone. In this respect, CMI is to elucidate, under all aspects, each case of non-fulfillment of the JCC decisions starting from 12 March 2020 and report the measures undertaken.
