World Bank to provide Moldova with additional funding to purchase COVID vaccines

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/- Yesterday Moldovan delegation had an online discussion with Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Anna Bjerde. In this context, the commitment to continue the efficient implementation of ongoing projects in the Bank's portfolio was expressed, the Ministry of Finance has reported.
Anna Bjerde said that the next days, the World Bank will approve additional funding for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines, which was negotiated with Moldova in March worth 24.8 million euros.
Priorities in collaboration with the World Bank are: elaboration of new partnership framework for the next four years, as well as approval of a set of policy measures that will be the basis for unblocking the financing of the country's budget deficit.
During the discussion, the official informed that the term of office of the country manager for Moldova, Anna Akhalkatsi, ends this summer and introduced new country manager - Inguna Dobraja.
