Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/ - The works of construction of the bypass road of the Slobozia Mare village, southern Cahul district, which connects the national roads R34 and M3, are carried out at the level of 20 per cent. Representatives of the State Administration of Roads (ASD), who monitored the labour process on the site today, made statements to this effect.
„The project financed from a loan provided to Moldova’s government by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provides for the construction of the bypass road of the settlement Slobozia Mare with road cloth of asphalt concrete, building of 31 small bridges, three pavilion for waiting public transport, setting of 960 road signs and putting the proper road marking,’’ ASD said.
Also, the road segment with a value of 18 million euros will have two lanes and will include an intersection with circle movement, which makes connection with the current M3 national road. The building of the road which would lead to the Giurgiulesti customs checkpoint at the border with Romania will release the local roads from the flow of the high-tonnage transport means and will shorten the time of movement of touring cars to the border, thus ensuring the road traffic in conditions of comfort and safety.
