Moldovan acting PM has meeting with Russian ambassador

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today received Ambassador of Russia to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.

At the meeting, the Russian official announced new details about the delivery of 142,000 doses of Sputnik-V vaccine to Moldova for free. The donation is to be brought to Chisinau by a special plane of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Aureliu Ciocoi expressed appreciation to the Russian authority for the providing of the transport for the consignment of vaccine. He noted that Sputnik-V would be used for continuing the national plan on immunization against Covid-19.

The sides exchanged opinions on up-to-date subjects on the agenda of the Moldovan-Russian relations. The officials reconfirmed both sides’ willingness to further develop the cooperation in the fields of mutual interest.

In the context, the diplomats discussed actions planned for this year, among which an ordinary meeting of the inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation, as well as the new rounds of consultations between the two foreign affairs ministries.
