Moldovan president talked to ANRE, Moldelectrica administration

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu held a working meeting yesterday with administration of ANRE and Moldelectrica company.

According to the presidential press service, the meeting focused on steps needed to ensure competition in the electricity supply market. In this regard, the participants spoke about the actions taken to develop and implement the new rules on balancing electricity, which concern the compensation of deviations from the programmed values ​​of electricity consumption and production. The rules are to be implemented by 2 October 2021 and must ensure both competition and the stability of the operation of the power system.

„ANRE and Moldelectrica company must ensure equal and non-discriminatory access to balancing services for all energy suppliers. The selective application of rules to favor certain suppliers, who make use of administrative resources in order to monopolize the market, is inadmissible. ANRE must ensure compliance with the rules by all providers and apply sanctions for those who operate outside the legal framework ", said the head of state.
