Moldovan president meets US envoy

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu had a meeting on Friday with US Ambassador to Moldova Dereck J. Hogan, the presidential press service has reported.

The two officials discussed several current issues on the Moldovan-US bilateral agenda, as well as the pandemic crisis and current challenges in the region.

Increased attention was paid to the events that took place yesterday in the Parliament of Chisinau, which undermines the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova. Ambassador Dereck J. Hogan called for the separation of powers in the state and for the independence of the CC, as a bastion against anti-democratic slippage.
