Moldovan deputy premier for reintegration summons consultative working meeting on bank issues

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari today summoned an online enlarged working meeting, with the participation of representatives of the competent national authorities and institutions from the financial and banking sector, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The discussions were focused on the situation concerning the business relations of the licenced banks from Moldova with clients residents from the Transnistrian region, legal framework in the reference sphere, caution measures enforced, certain difficulties faced in this process, potential measures which can be undertaken to overcome the current problems and ensure the compliance with the exigencies established in the legislation in force and in the international arrangements Moldova is party to.
In the context, the participants in the event pointed out the requirements applicable at present, in the light of the provisions of the national normative framework in the field of prevention and combating of money laundering.
The deputy PM for reintegration thanked for the presentation, with full knowledge of the case, of the problems faced in the process, proposals of relevant actions in this respect. Cebotari also reiterated the need to maintain an interactive cooperation, including with the involvement of international experts in the field, in order to ensure the full compliance with the present requirements.
