People subjected to political repressions to receive compensations in Moldova

Chisinau, 29 April /MOLDPRES/ - Over 1.1 million lei will be earmarked to return the value of the assets through the payment of compensations to the people subjected to political repressions. The cabinet of ministers took a decision to this effect today.

Under the decision, the money will be allocated to local public administration authorities, at the expense of the means provided for in the 2021 state budget.

The sum will be distributed, according to applications, to the district councils Briceni, Criuleni, Rascani, Straseni and Sangerei.

Starting from 1 January 2020, the rehabilitated victims of the political repressions from the period 1917-1990 have been monthly receiving allocations worth 500 lei, no matter whether they are beneficiaries of pensions or social allocations or not.
