Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/- The Republic of Moldova has passed the first part of the audit of the European Commission (EC) on approval of export of poultry meat and eggs to the European Union, according to the preliminary results recently announced by the EC for the poultry sector in our country.
According to the preliminary conclusions of the audit, the control system in animal health in our country is well organized and meets EU requirements, with major potential for listing by the European side to allow the import of poultry meat and eggs.
"However, an important step will be the second part of the European Commission's audit in the Republic of Moldova, when verifying the documentary compliance with the process of implementing procedures and measures applied in poultry units on animal health issues, which will allow supply to the EU market of safe and quality products ", said Vladislav Cotici, director general of the National Agency for Food Safety.
The audit took place on 19-29 April, and during 2021 the European Commission planned three audit missions for the Republic of Moldova. The first mission provides for the evaluation of the field of animal health, followed by another in the field of surveillance of residues in products of animal origin, for which the Republic of Moldova has monitoring plans approved by the European Commission. The third mission provides for the assessment of the safety of food for the export of poultrymeat, poultrymeat products and eggs to the European Union.
