As much as 22.5 billion lei collected in Moldova's national public budget since early 2021

Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/ - Revenues worth 22.5 billion lei have been collected in the national public budget in the first four months of 2021, up by 3.6 billion lei against the same period of the year before, the Finance Ministry has reported.
According to the ministry, the expenses amounted to 24.7 billion lei, which is by 3.3 billion lei more against the same period of the 2020 year. The fulfillment of the national public budget ended with a deficit worth 2.2 billion lei and the balances of financial means in the accounts of the budgets components of the national public budget stood at 7.8 billion lei.
The state budget revenues amounted to 14 billion lei in the first four months of 2021. They grew by 2.6 billion lei against the same period of the previous year. ‘’The revenues managed by the State Fiscal Service (SFS) stood at 6.4 million lei, up by 1.2 million lei against the concerned period of the 2020 year; at the same time, the revenues managed by the Customs Service amounted to 8 billion lei, increasing by 1.4 billion lei against the same period of the last year,’’ the Finance Ministry said.
The state budget’s expenses were fulfilled in an amount of 16 billion lei, which is by 2.2 billion lei more against the same period of the year before. The state budget’s fulfillment ended with a deficit worth 2.9 billion lei. The balances of the financial means in the state budget accounts stood at 4.7 billion lei.
The Finance Ministry informed that it had ensured the fulfillment of all payment commitments for the January-April 2021 period, with all payments fully financed.
„Under the law on public money and the budgetary and fiscal responsibility, priority is to honour the obligations of servicing the domestic and external state debt, as well as the payment of salaries, pensions and social benefits. We reiterate that there no risks of non-fulfillment of the expenses approved in the budget, given that we permanently ensure a prudent management of the liquidities,’’ reads a press release by the Finance Ministry.
The state budget for 2021 was approved at 41,415,400 thousands lei in terms of revenues and 55,399,600 thousands lei in terms of expenses, with a deficit of 13,984,200 thousands lei.
