Voters can declare new place of residence to vote

Chisinau, 7 May /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announced today that voters can apply for declaration on new residence, where they will vote at snap polls.

According to the CEC, to be able to vote at a polling station other than according to the valid residence, the voter will submit a residence declaration to the local public administration authority in the locality where he wants to vote.

Through the procedure, the voter will be registered in the electoral list of the polling station according to the declared place of residence and will be able to exercise his right to vote at the respective polling station.

"The declaration, together with the attached identity document will be submitted personally before 10 June. Upon submission of the declaration, the voter will present the original identity document for confirmation. The statements submitted for the previous elections are no longer valid ", the CEC said.

Snap elections will be held on 11 July 2021.
