Moldovan parliament speaker's message on occasion of Victory Day

Chisinau, 9 May /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today conveyed a message on the occasion of the Victory Day, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.

The message reads:

„On 9 May, millions of people from all over the world celebrate the Great Victory – a holy day which became symbol of the unprecedented heroism and boundless love for the Motherland.  

As more and more time passes following the events from 1941-1945, their memory and the awareness about the sacrifice of the Motherland’s defenders become stronger and deeper. We will never cease admiring the courage and devotion of those who won the greatest Victory from the mankind’s history.  

On this day, we pay homage also to those who contributed to the accomplishment of the Victory over the fascism, in the rear of the front, including women, children, old people, as well as to those who raised the country out of ruins on the post-war period. Their effort, beyond the limits of the human capacities, inspires us now too, after decades, as a source of firmness before the ordeal and an example of unconditional serving of the Motherland and the people.   

The memory of those who fell or who died in the years after the war, the deep valuing for the veterans will live in our hearts eternally. This is the holy responsibility and duty of each reasonable person!    

May the peace and well-being last for centuries in our beautiful country Republic of Moldova!’’
