Covid vaccination continues in Chisinau

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/- In Chisinau, covid vaccination process continues, 63 vaccination centers are operational, and the local authorities will order them to operate on weekends as well.
The head of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Health of Chisinau City Hall, Tatiana Bucearschi, said today at a meeting of municipal services that in case of need to expand vaccination facilities, in addition to the 63 centers, other vaccination points will be opened. "In order to vaccinate a greater number of residents, we decided the vaccination centers should operate on weekends," said Bucearschi.
At the same time, the official said that 2,778 medical staff from the capital received the first dose of vaccine and 1,980 - the second dose. In total, 45,388 people have got vaccinated in the primary care medical institutions in the municipality, both medical workers and technical staff.
Bucearschi also noted that the number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 is decreasing, currently 278 confirmed patients are hospitalized, of which 28 are in very serious condition, 131 are in serious condition and 108 have an average condition of health.
According to the official, the state of public health in Chisinau will be closely monitored in the coming days, when an increase in the number of coronavirus infections is expected.
