Five per cent of Moldova's residents vacinated against COVID-19

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 202, 883 people have been immunized in Moldova so far, which accounts for 5.7 per cent of the country’s population.
According to the leadership of the National Public Health Agency, 785,770 vaccine doses have been brought to Moldova till present, of which 24,570 Pfizer/BioNTech, 152,000 Sinopharm vaccines, 367,200 AstraZeneca, 142,000 Sputnik V and 100,000 dozes of Sinovac.
As many as 175,754 people have been immunized with the first vaccine dose so far and the second dose was administered to 27,121 people. The coverage with vaccines among the medical staff is of more than 80 per cent.
Also, 335 out of all people immunized against COVID-19 were identified positive for coronavirus 12 days after the administering of the first vaccine dose, which shows that the people have been already infected.
The medicine authorities informed that a consignment of about 45,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine might be brought to Moldova till late May.
