Moldovan academician celebrates 65th birth anniversary

Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/- Academician Stanislav Groppa, neurologist, PhD in medicine, university professor, holder of the Labor Glory Order celebrates today 65th birth anniversary.
He is currently Vice President for Research (USMF). 25 years ago, Stanislav Groppa founded the Center for Surgery and Neurosurgery of the Institute of Emergency Medicine, where distinguished cultural figures from the country and abroad were treated. Neurosurgeon at the Municipal Emergency Clinical Hospital in Chisinau. Director of the Neurology, Neurosurgery Clinic of the Institute of Emergency Medicine.
He has done internships abroad, collaborated and continues to collaborate with scientists and scientific institutions from several countries around the world. Currently, he is the head of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at USMF, which he founded in 1995. A little later, he created the laboratory of neurobiology and medical genetics, which he still leads today.
in 2010 he won three medals: bronze - at the international competition in Seoul, silver - at the International Invention Show in Geneva and the gold - offered by the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports. He is concerned with three main directions: stroke, epilepsy and pain. He is also a member of several international societies, including the US National Council on Cerebrovascular Disease; professor at the European Academy of Epiloptology; co-founder and member of the International Academy of Neurology, etc. He is an honorary member of the Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences.
Academician Stanislav Groppa has published over 450 papers, including nine monographs, five textbooks. He is the author of doctoral training programs, residency training programs. He participated in the World Congress of Neurology held in Morocco, where the National Society of Neurology was accepted as a component part of the World Society of Neurology.
At the same time, he initiated several collaboration projects with the universities of Geneva (Switzerland) and Chiel (Germany). In 2009, Stanislav Groppa was awarded the Labor Glory Order. He also holds the title of Honored Man, Nicolae Testemitanu Medal and Nicolae Milescu Spătarul Medal of ASM.
