Moldovan president, German MPs broach cooperation

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/- Yesterday evening, in Berlin, President Maia Sandu had a working dinner with MPs Johann David Wadephul and Jürgen Hardt from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), distinguished members of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the presidential press service has reported.

"I discussed with the Christian Democrat parliamentarians about the political developments in Moldova, my plan to reform the country and Germany's support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova and its transformation into a consolidated democracy that works in the interest of citizens," Maia Sandu said.

The head of state also met with Prime Minister of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and new president of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany Armin Laschet.

The Moldovan president is on a two-day official visit to Berlin at the invitation of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany.
