Adviser with European experience in green transition to work at Moldovan agriculture ministry

Chisinau, 24 May /MOLDPRES/ - A European Union High-Level Adviser in Green Transition will work at the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM). The adviser will provide consultancy in the field of analyzing environment policies, identifying problems and fit solutions to the sector of solid waste management.
It is about Justina Grigaraviciene, who was elected to this position following a contest organizated by the EU Delegation, after she had worked as deputy minister at the Environment Ministry of Lithuania.
„During her mandate, she was in charge of analyzing the policies and the strategic framework in the environment sector, identifying problems focused on the circular economy, waste management, strategic development goals, 2030 Agenda, preventing the pollution, system of supply with drinking water, resources’ efficiency, biodiversity and nature’s protection, renewable energy, climate changes, woods and biomass. She also held the office of state’s representative in the EU Council in the environment field, involved in the development of the international cooperation in the sectors related and was competent with the development of the national legislation, in accordance with the European Union’s framework,’’ MADRM said.
"One of the foremost goals of MADRM resides in the imperious need to strengthen the institution’s capacities for implementing the provisions of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, which regard, to a great extent, the segments related to the environment and climate changes; adaptation to the climate changes and waste management. The experience of Justina Grigaraviciene is quite welcome and will be extremely efficient on the dimension of implementing the reforms as to the integration of the environment and climate changes,’’ competent minister Ion Perju said.
The mission of the European Union High-Level Advisers is a project financed by EU; its main goal was the support of Moldova’s government in implementing its reforms’ agenda, which provides for assistance in consolidating the capacities necessary for implementing the Association Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, as well as to ensure the actions of post-liberalization of the visa regime.
