Another 200 ventilators to be distributed to hospitals of Moldova

Chisinau, 24 May /MOLDPRES/ - Another consignment of 200 ventilators, bought within the World Bank’s project, Emergency Response to COVIUD-19 in Moldova, will be distributed to medical institutions from Moldova, in order to strengthen the intensive therapy sections.
Attending the event on reception of the medical equipment, the state secretary at the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), Igor Curov, said that the ‘’today’s delivery of the consignment of ventilators is extremely necessary, given that there are in continuation patients in serious condition who urgently need assisted breathing and this equipment will save their lives.’’
The ventilators are of the last generation and of the highest performance. As many as 292 ventilators have been purchased within the project launched on 28 May 2020.
According to data by MSMPS, at present, 109 patients in serious condition are put in hospitals of Moldova, of whom 16 are connected to assisted breathing apparatus.
