Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/- For snap elections of 11 July, the Central Electoral Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration plan to open more polling stations abroad than in autumn 2020 presidential election.
During a joint press conference, organized today by the CEC and MAEIE, acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi said "at least as many sections as in the presidential elections should be opened for the parliamentary elections".
He said that the Moldovan authorities will advocate for the opening of several polling stations in foreign localities where there was a high turnout in the presidential elections. "We plead, at least, to maintain the same number of polling stations as in the presidential elections in November 2020. Where five thousand people voted and the ballots were exhausted, to double the number of polling stations," said Aureliu Ciocoi.
139 polling stations were opened abroad at the 2020 presidential elections.
