Seven percent of Moldovan population got vaccinated against COVID-19

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/- So far, 306,610 people have got vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova, which is 7.07 percent of the country's population.
According to the National Public Health Agency, so far, 886,390 doses of vaccine have arrived in the country. About 70 percent have already been distributed in the territory. At the end of last week, our country received over 100 thousand doses of Pfizer / BioNTech and yesterday they were distributed in the centers in the territory.
Authorities are discussing with the big producers for the purchase of new batches of vaccine. Currently, all people who have reached the age of 18 are eligible for vaccination. They can call their family doctor or schedule an appointment online to get vaccinated.
So far, over 250,000 people have got vaccinated with the first dose and the booster has been administered at 40,372. Vaccine coverage among medical staff is over 75 percent.
Also, of the total number of people immunized against COVID-19, more than 1,300 had moderate side effects.
