Actions dedicated to children's traffic safety take place in Moldova's schools

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC), in cooperation with a competent public association, has organized a string of actions to back the sixth edition of the United Nations Global Traffic Safety Week at more education institutions from Moldova, held on 17-21 May.
The goal of these actions is to warn the society and decision-makers about the problem of the excessive speed, which is the principal risk factor and the first reason for the deaths and injuries caused by the traffic accidents in the world.
During the week, pupils were trained about the traffic safety and participated in topic-related contests organized in each general education institution. At the same time, on 21 May, teachers and parents took part in a seminar organized nationally; the participants in the event discussed the importance of backing the initiative on establishing of the speed regime of 30 km/hour nearby schools and in the dangerous areas for the vulnerable participants in the traffic.
To form skills of responsible behavior in emergency situations, pupils are trained in all schools of Moldova within the discipline, Personal Development (the first-12th forms). Also the following courses are held this year: Methodological guide for teachers from early education institutions and Traffic security: album of demonstrative materials, which will have continuity in the primary schools and gymnasiums.
