Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/ - The State Administration of Roads (ASD) and the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) will sign a cooperation agreement for combining the use of the findings of the meteorological observations and implementation of the road meteorological system in Moldova.
“The agreement will establish the process of inter-institutional cooperation between ASD and SHS, including the exchange of data and information, experience and good practices,’’ the ASD acting director general, Veaceslav Potop, said.
So far, the State Administration of Roads has set two road meteorological stations nearby the settlements Pojareni, central Ialoveni district, on the R3 national public road and in the settlement Peresecina from the central Orhei district, on the R6 road.
„The automated meteorological stations set within SHS ensure the measuring of the atmospheric pressure, air temperature and humidity, direction and speed of wind, quantity of precipitation, soil surface’s temperature, etc., with these characteristics being essential for the control of the traffic conditions. The mutual use of the findings of the meteorological observations will improve the meteorological monitoring in Moldova,’’ the acting deputy director of the State Hydrometeorological Service, Mihail Grigoras, stressed.
Under a Government Decision from 2019, 30 functional road meteorological stations will be set in Moldova till November 2022, in order to extend the system of forecasting and control of the traffic conditions.
