Moldovan government rules to increase scholarships for pupils, students by 2.3 per cent

Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved a 2.3-per cent increase in the scholarships for pupils and students. The pupils and students from the higher and vocational, post-secondary/post-secondary ton-tertiary and secondary vocational education institutions will enjoy higher scholarships, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The pupils studying in arts schools and the gifted pupils will receive scholarships worth from 380 to 560 lei. The sum of the scholarship for the students from the higher education institutions and pupils from the post-secondary and post-secondary non-tertiary vocational education will vary between 945 and 1,015 lei.
The students training for doctor’s decree of the first, second and third years will benefit from scholarships worth 1,245, 1,375 and 1,420 lei. The resident physicians will also receive scholarships depending on the academic year – from 1,245 up to 1,420 lei.
The merit scholarships: of the Republic, of Moldova’s President, of the Government and the Gaudeamus scholarship will vary between 990 and 1,640 lei.
The cabinet ruled that a supplement equal with the difference between the scholarship established and the scholarship paid for the period beginning with 1 January 2021 till present is paid to pupils and students.
The sum envisaged to this end is of 5.7 million lei.
