Premiere of new play held at Vasile Alecsandri Theatre from Balti

Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/ - The premiere of the play, Agachi Butterfly, according to the play Agachi Flutur by Vasile Alecsandri, stage management of Sandu Cozub, has recently taken place at the Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre from Balti.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, Sandu Cozub said that this play had been staged on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birthday of Romanian writer Vasile Alecsandri.

„This is a new version of the Agachi Flutur play by our classical dramatist Vasile Alecsandri. This is a situation comedy, which I have modernized and gave it a new title, Agachi Buterfly,’’ Cozub specified.

For her part, the theatre’s literary secretary, Ludmila Cerguta, said that the 2021 year was remarkable also by the fact that the Balti-based theatre’s building marks its 30th anniversary since its opening, with status of monument of republican significance and a unique architecture in the Romanian space.

At the same time, a museum of vestimentary exhibits, paintings, sketches scenography, works in wood, books and theatre objects has recently been inaugurated at the Balti theatre.
