Chisinau, 28 May /MOLDPRES/- Draft decision, which provides for a one-year extension of deadline for implementing START for young people: a sustainable home business program was published in the Official Journal on 28 May.
Under the document, the amendments also provide for the extension of the eligibility period for application to the Program up to two years from the registration or establishment of the company, which will allow more young people to benefit from financial support in starting and developing business.
According to the government, so far, it has been found that many companies created by young people have not been able to benefit from the opportunities of the Program due to the company's age. Respectively, the one-year deadline for enterprises limits the participation of young people who have started a business and are at the early stage of its development.
The program aims at increasing socio-economic impact, by stimulating the takeover and application of good practices in the economy, job creation, increasing the volume of investments in the economy etc. The food sector has been severely affected by the COVID-19 crisis, so the Youth Start Program will be an additional support for young people who have started businesses in the field.
For 2021, 20,000.0 thousand lei will be allocated from the state budget to implement the program.
The decision entered into force today, with its publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova.
