Moldovan poet celebrates 65th anniversary

Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/- Poet, publicist and translator Teo Chiriac, vice-president of Writers' Union of Moldova, holder of the title Master of Literature, winner of the National Prize celebrates today 65th anniversary.
He was born on 29 May 1956, in Coșernița village, Floresti district. He graduated from the State University of Moldova, Faculty of Philology, Journalism (1979). From 1979 to 1985 he was an editor at the National Radio, and from 1985 to 1993 - editor and editor-in-chief at the Artistic Literature Publishing House (later, Hyperion) in Chisinau.
He participated in the International Training Program Marshall plan for Moldova (1998-2004). He did internships in the Czech Republic and Italy. He is a member of the Writers' Union of Moldova and Romania. In 1995-1997 he was the representative of the Writers' Union of Romania in its Chisinau Branch. Since 2010 he has been vice-president of the Writers' Union of Moldova and since 2015 - editor-in-chief of the Literary Magazine.
He was awarded the Lira Prize of the International Book Fair, Chisinau (2010), the Prize of the Writers' Union of Moldova for the book "My Soul until the Big Bang" (2016), with the honorary title Master of Literature (2010), Order of Honor (2015) and Order Cultural Merit in the rank of Officer, Category “A”, Literature, of Romania (2014).
His lyrics can be read in literary magazines and poetry anthologies published in Romania, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Northern Macedonia, Bulgaria and Russia. In 2017 he was awarded the National Prize and in 2020 - the Constantin Stere prize for literature of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research for the volume -The friction between everything and nothing.
