78 thousand Chisinau residents not to pay real estate tax

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/- Tax department of the Chisinau city hall will manually set real estate tax exemptions for people who benefit from the facilities.

Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban said at today's municipal services meeting that over 78,000 owners should be exempt from paying real estate tax. "This year we have increased the exemption by 85% for the elderly, pensioners, people with disabilities, participants in fighting in Afghanistan and liquidation of the Chernobyl disaster," Ceban said.

At the same time, the mayor said that personal data have not been updated and many people have not been exempted. "People who are of retirement age and have not benefited from these facilities must go to the tax department, and the exemption will be applied manually," Ceban said.
