North Development Region has tourist potential to be used

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/- The North Development Region has a relatively high tourism potential, but which needs to be turned to good account, according to ADR Nord director Maria Prisacari, who participated in Moldova Tourism Forum 2021, recently held in Chisinau.

„Thanks to good conditions of the picturesque places, due to the existing cultural and religious heritage, folk traditions, customs, specifics of local and regional cuisine, the North Development Region has a relatively high tourist potential, but which must be exploited. Turning to good account of tourist places will determine the attraction of tourists in the region, create opportunities and regional economic growth. At the same time, investments in tourism will allow the region to use its tourism potential to improve competitive advantages ", said Maria Prisacari.

The ADR Nord director presented the portfolio of regional development projects in the tourism sector implemented by the Agency, which includes ten projects, as well as the portfolio of tourism investment project offers in the North Development Region, which includes six projects to be funded.

The organizers of the Moldova Tourism Forum 2021 aimed to connect online representatives of the tourism sector, as well as potential tourists who are looking for new unexplored destinations. The program highlighted case studies from international experience, good practices and regional initiatives that serve as a model for long-term adaptability and development.

Moldova Tourism Forum 2021 was organized by the Investment Agency of the Republic of Moldova, with the support of strategic partners - US Agency for International Development (USAID), Sweden and UK aid.
