Moldovan president awards more culture people

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sand, at a today’s official ceremony, handed honorific titles People’s Artist, Master in Art and Merited Artist, recently awarded to culture people of Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.
The distinctions were offered for long and prodigious work in the culture sector, contribution to the promotion of moral and spiritual values, success in the creation activity and professional mastership. Thus, the folk music singers Osoianu sisters, ballet dancer Anastasia Homitcaia and actress Nina Doni received the title People’s Artist today. Painters Victor Cobzac, Analolii Danilișin, Alexandru Macovei, Vladimir Palamarciuc și Mihail Statnîi, as well as stage manager Mihai Fusu and theatre critic Larisa Turea were awarded the honorific title Master in Art. At the same time, musician Ion Negura, circus artist Denis Velenciuc and the first conductor Andriy Yurkevych received the title of Merited Artist.
„The culture of a people is its visiting card before the entire world and you are the visiting card of our country. Moldova has gifted and prolific artists, true ambassadors of our values and traditions. You have managed and manage to create and present us nicely all over the world. I am happy that we presently can put right things and can express appreciation for your effort and talent. I want to thank you on behalf of our citizens and to voice hope that we will manage make proper order in the country and this means inclusively more money for culture and more appreciation for values,’’ President Maia Sandu said at the ceremony.
The honorific titles were awarded by Moldova’s President Maia Sandu on the occasion of the Culture Employee’s Day, marked on 16 May.
