Moldovan head of state pays working visit to northern district

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today paid a working visit to the northern Edinet district, where she had meetings with mayors, headmasters, local authorities’ representatives, physicians and entrepreneurs from the district, the presidential press service has reported.
„The interlocutors informed me about the march of the vaccination campaign, present situation in the health and education sectors, problems of the settlements from the Edinet district. I discussed with the mayors development projects carried out in Edinet and about the importance of the fair support of local development projects, including the ones with European financing,’’ Maia Sandu said.
Also, the head of state discussed with entrepreneurs the reestablishment and extension of the sales markets for their production and the need to diversify the local economy. President Maia Sandu said that Moldova needed major quality investments, which will come to the country only if we have a reliable justice.
„I informed the people with whom I talked in Edinet about the plan on economic recovery on which we presently work. The country needs concrete solutions to overcome the crisis, as well as serious measures to start a process of development and modernization,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
As for the group of protesters who met her in Edinet, the head of state said the protest was a constitutional right, which she observes. ‘’In my capacity of president, I will do my utmost to change the living of all citizens for the better – including of those who have other political visions or preferences than me,’’ Maia Sandu stressed.
