5 years since plane crash in Haragâș

Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/- Today we mark 5 years since the plane crash of SMURD Iași crew that crashed in 2016 near Haragâș, Cantemir district, after carrying out an aero-medical rescue mission in the Republic of Moldova.
The SMURD Romania crew, with four people on board, fell in a forest near Haragâș, and the crew members died. In their memory, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations will organize a solemn commemoration event with military honors on 3 June at 13.30 at the Haragâș Memorial Complex.
On 2 June 2016, a Romanian helicopter of SMURD emergency service, on a mission in the Republic of Moldova, crashed near the village of Haragâș. The helicopter had already rescued a person from the Republic of Moldova, refueled in Chisinau and was on its way to a second patient in our country. All crew members lost their lives in the accident: Doru Gavril, Voicu Şocae, Mihaela Dumea and Gabriel Sandu. They were decorated post-mortem by presidents of Romania and the Republic of Moldova. A year later, a memorial complex was erected in the memory of the crew at Haragâș.
