Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/ - The European Commission has approved a plan of economic recovery for Moldova worth 600 million euros. European MP Siegfried Muresan made statements to this effect.
According to Muresan, the money will be used, first of all, in investments in road, digital and energy infrastructure and then in the economic competitiveness and backing the small- and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the reforms expected by Moldova’s citizens in the public administration, public sector, justice and combating corruption.
„The best news received by Moldova’s citizens on behalf of the European Union since the visa regime’s liberalization is the plan on economic recovery of 600 million euros for the next 3 years, announced by the European Commission today,’’ Muresan said.
He noted that the plan was the sole economic package provided by the European Union to a country from the eastern neighbourhood and would not have been possible without a close cooperation between the Moldovan Presidency and the European Union’s institutions.
„We are happy to see that this assistance was announced by the European Commission exactly one week after a working meeting which I paid to Moldova, along with the president of the European Parliament’s Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Andrius Kubilius, and the deputy president of the European Parliament’s Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Andrzej Halicki,’’ Muresan added.
