Moldovan fine artist living in Germany prepares book on painting, graphic, objects

Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/ - Fine artist, art critic and historian, teacher and publicist Gheorghe Mardare, who settled in Hannover, Germany, in 1996, prepared a book titled, Gheorghe Mardare: Pictură, grafică, obiecte. (Gânduri despre viață și artă) (Gheorghe Mardare: Painting, graphic, objects. (Thoughts about life and art).    

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the artist said that, in this book, he was setting forth the life situations in which some of his works had appeared.   

According to Mardare, in the last two years, because of the pandemic, his art studio for children from Hannover was closed, which he set up and led since 2000. ‘’The case was fatal for me, as this separated me from the world and reality. My last substantial achievement occurred 6 years ago – the publication of my monograph about the Art of the old Romanian Bessarabian carpets (the magic of the symbolic message) at a publishing house from Chisinau. At present, I continue to write about the fine arts from Moldova, Germany and other countries,’’ the teachers and fine artist also said.  

Gheorghe Mardare was born in the Miclesti village, on 1 May 1946. He studied at the Alexandru Plamadeala Republican Fine Arts College in 1968-1972. Afterwards, Mardare he studied at the History and Theory of Fine Arts Faculty of the Arts Academy from St. Petersburg in 1974-1980. On the period 1984-1991, he was training for a doctor’s degree at the Moscow-based Stroganov State Academy of Arts and Industry.      

Gheorghe Mardare inaugurated more personal and group exhibitions in various galleries and public places from Chisinau, Romania, Germany. His works are preserved in private and public collections from Romania, Moldova, Germany, Israel, the Netherlands, Russia, in the collection of the National Library of the U.S. Congress.   

Mardare is member of the Moldovan Fine Artists’ Union. He is laureate of the Palm Art Award international prize for culture, promoted by the Who’s Who in Visual Art German encyclopedic publishing house of contemporary art from Leipzig.
