Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/ - The European Commission today approved a plan on economic recovery for Moldova for the next three years. This plan is launched as a result of the discussions held during a visit to Brussels by President Maia Sandu in last January, the presidential press service has reported.
„The plan establishes a programme of interventions and investments worth up to 600 million euros in all for Moldova, which will be carried out on the period 2021-2024, in close cooperation with the European Union member states and international financial institutions, through Team Europe and with the participation of private investors,’’ Maia Sandu said.
According to the head of state, the plan will be focused on five pillars: public money management and economic governance; competitive economy, trade and small- and medium-sized enterprises; infrastructure; education and employment; and reform of the rule of law state and justice. At the same time, the funds announced, those up to 600 million euros - will be provided based on strict conditions agreed upon by the European Union and Moldova.
„I appreciate the European Commission’s effort, especially of President Ursula von der Leyen and European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi and his team, for the quick completion this plan,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
