Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today paid a working visit to the south-eastern Causeni district, where she discussed with citizens, the presidential press service has reported.
„We met, along with my team, with mayors from villages, local business people, teachers and physicians, as well as veterans of the war of Transnistria. We spoke, each time, about the process of vaccination and the importance to persuade as many people as possible to be vaccinated. This is our only chance to resume the daily activities,’’ Maia Sandu said.
At a discussion with the local public authorities (APL), the head of state reviewed the most urgent problems of the district’s settlements. ‘’Truthful local autonomy, local development projects, investments, due to bring new jobs, are needed in Causeni as well. I discussed communities’ problems with people from the Salcuta village too. I reiterated my commitment to attract European funds, due to be used, as priority, by our villages, contributing to the creation of the modern local infrastructure. In the context, I congratulated the staff of the local Mesterul Manole Theoretical Lyceum, which has managed to become a true model of modern and friendly school for children,’’ the Moldovan president also said.
The head of state noted that the problems of the entrepreneurs from Causeni were common: combating the drought, construction of irrigation systems, competitive agriculture, development of small industries. ‘’One of the greatest expectations deals with the cleaning of justice and elimination of corruption from the state’s institutions. At the same time, I emphasized that one of our priorities is the economic recovery and that we enjoy much openness on this way. The proof is the plan on economic recovery for Moldova, worth 600 million euros, announced by the European Commission just today,’’ Maia Sandu stressed.
At the visit, the Moldovan president discussed also with physicians from the Causeni district. ‘’A strong economy means more resources both for education and health – this is the message which I conveyed at the meeting with employees of the Causeni district hospital, which signaled me both systemic and social problems. I thanked everybody for dedication proved in combating the pandemic and I assured them that the health sector would remain in our focus,’’ the head of state noted.
