Moldova's National Extraordinary Public Health Commission sets way of organizing snap parliamentary elections

Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/ - The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP), at a today’s meeting, approved an instruction on the way the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) is to organize and carry out polls in conditions of the pandemic situation through the COVID-19 infection.
The document establishes the compulsory general rules of prevention and combating of the COVID-19 infection during the holding of the elections.
At the same time, the instructions contain the protection measures for all electoral subjects: voters, electoral civil servants, electoral contenders and other actors involved. A special chapter is dedicated to the norms of holding the electoral campaign, in the case of organizing events/meetings/actions which imply participants’ physical presence.
The measures of control and combating the COVID-19 infection, established by CNESP, will be compulsorily observed at the headquarters of the polling stations on the day of the elections.
