Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with Bucharest-based Ambassador of Greece to Moldova Sofia Grammata. The sides discussed more subjects on the bilateral agenda, such as the boosting of the economic, political and social relations, the presidential press service has reported.
„A special subject approached is the one of the travels by Moldovans to Greece. I conveyed to Mrs. Ambassador the request to include Moldova in the list of non-European Union countries, whose citizens have access to Greece,’’ the head of state said.
President Maia Sandu thanked the Greek side for willingness to advance in the negotiations on the bilateral agreement in the social security sector – an important document for Moldova’s citizens who live and work in Greece.
The head of state also asked the Athens authorities to facilitate the participation of the Moldovans settled in Greece in the snap parliamentary elections due in next July. ‘’The discussion was also focused on the possibility to foster the ties on the cultural dimension, which might turn to account the unexplored potential of the historical relations between our countries,’’ Maia Sandu said.
