Chisinau, 4 June /MOLDPRES/ - The central electoral authority has considered the documents and today registered three political formations as electoral contenders for the 11 July snap parliamentary elections: the Party of Democracy and Consolidation of Moldova, We Political Party and the Political Party Alliance for the Union of Romanians.
The procedure of registration of the Political Party Alliance for the Union of Romanians triggered discussions on the quality of more candidates for the office of MP on the electoral list of this political formation. Two candidates for the MP position, Dorin Chirtoaca and Valeriu Munteanu, have earlier held the office of president of other political formations.
Two members of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) expressed concern about the fact that the electoral list presented by the Political Party Alliance for the Union of Romanians would hide a disguised electoral bloc in it. The representatives of this political formation presented documents, according to which both the two aforementioned persons and others on the party’s electoral list had left the political formations whose members they have earlier been. This political formation was registered as electoral contender with eight votes for. One CEC member, Andrei Volentir, abstained from voting.
Fourteen electoral competitors for the 11 July 2021 snap parliamentary polls have been registered so far.
