Forty four polling stations to be opened for voters from left bank of Dniester at snap elections

Chisinau, 5 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today ruled to organize 44 polling stations for the citizens with right to vote from the settlements on the left bank of Dniester, Bender city and several settlements of the eastern Causeni district for the snap parliamentary elections due on 11 July 2021.
According to CEC, in this way, the electoral council of the electoral constituency for the settlements from the left bank of Dniester No 37 will set up the polling stations and their electoral bureaus.
The Interior Ministry, based on its powers according to the provisions of the Electoral Code, will undertake all needed measures as to the maintaining of the public order in the settlements where these polling stations are placed.
To guarantee the security of the voting process at the polling stations from the settlements in Security Zone, CEC called on the national, international observers and the Joint Control Commission to monitor the peaceful carrying out of the electoral process.
Official data from the State Register of Voter shows that more than 258,000 citizens with right to vote are registered in the administrative and territorial units from the left bank of Dniester, which are temporarily out of the sovereign control of Moldova’s constitutional authorities.
