Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today voted for the setting up of 146 polling stations abroad for the 11 July snap parliamentary elections.
The members of the central electoral authority revised a decision from 5 June, thereby opening 139 polling stations abroad and added new polling stations. Thus, new polling stations were added in the following countries: two polling stations in France – 10 polling stations in all; another three polling stations in Germany – nine in all; one more polling station in Italy – 31 ones in all; another three polling stations will be opened in the United Kingdom - ten polling stations in all. Also, the polling station for the Oradea city (Romania) and one polling station in Athens (Greece) were excluded.
The CEC meeting was held amid protest organized outside the Commission’s headquarters. More citizens showed their discontent with the CEC decision from 5 June on the opening of only 139 polling stations abroad for the snap parliamentary elections, due on 11 July.
