Top of most transparent enterprises with public capital established in Moldova

Chisinau, 9 June /MOLDPRES/ - The ranking of transparency of enterprises with public capital from Moldova has been recently presented at an online conference, held by the Viitorul (Future) Institute for Development and Social Initiatives (IDIS) and the Institute for Economic and Social Reforms from Slovakia (INEKO).

According to the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry (MEI), the enterprises were evaluated based on six criteria of transparency, such as the economic indicators, transparency and access to information, public procurements and property, human resources, ethics and conflict of interests, grants and charity.

Thus, the Moldelectrica state enterprise, managed by MEI, and the enterprises MoldATSA and Energocom, in the administrative boards of which there are MEI representatives, are the most transparent enterprises with public capital from Moldova in 2020, according to the ranking established.

The three enterprises were positioned best of all at such categories as transparency and access to information, economic indicators, public procurements and property, etc. Thus, out of 100 points for one enterprise, Moldelectrica got 58.4 points, the state enterprise MoldATSA – 58.3 points, respectively the stock company Energocom – 56.5 points.  

To calculate the transparency ranking, decision-makers monitored the work of 60 state, municipal enterprises and commercial companies with majority or entirely state-owned capital or municipal ones from Moldova. The enterprises were selected depending on the size of assets, importance of their activity field, with the direct inclusion also of the enterprises founded by local public authorities.   

Data from the State Register shows that187 state enterprises and 80 commercial companies, in which the state owns a share of the registered share capital, were registered in Moldova on 1 January 2021.
