Civic education campaign among young people to start in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 11 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (CICDE) and the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre have signed an agreement on cooperation as to the working out and organization of training programmes in the sector of civic education for children and young people.

The agreement was signed for a three-year period. CICDE director Doina Bordeianu said that the two institutions had similar visions as regards the education of young people and children and wanted to cooperate in fields of mutual interest, in order to enhance the efficiency of development efforts.

The signatory parties have agreed on the following cooperation sectors: elaboration of training programmes in the field of civic education for children and young people; organization of activities on promoting democratic values among young people (conferences, roundtables, training seminars, information campaigns, etc.); joint implementation of civic education programmes for the future and young voters; carrying out the fundraising activity in fields of common interest.

The Centre for Continuous Electoral Training and the Chisinau Municipal Youth Centre cooperated in 2020 too, before the presidential elections, when they organized a campaign of education of young people and raising their awareness about the importance of their involvement in electoral processes.
