Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) today were not able to delegate their representative to the Constitutional Court (CSM).
None of those 15 candidates to the position of CCM judge had the needed votes on behalf of the CSM members.
Following the deliberation meeting, which lasted more hours, the acting president of the Superior Council of Magistracy, Dorel Musteata, declared the contest as failed. ‘’No candidate had the necessary number of votes – the contest has failed,’’ Musteata said.
Before the contest, the members of the Superior Council of Magistracy turned down the application by a candidate for the office of Constitutional Court judge, Vasile Bolea, to postpone the contest in which he participates, for reasons that he is candidate at the parliamentary elections. Bolea’s application was rejected by unanimous vote of CSM and Vasile Bolea was not allowed to participate in the contest, on grounds that he is electoral contender.
Sixteen people submitted their files to the contest for filling the office of Constitutional Court judge, announced by CSM.
