Moldova National Energy Regulatory Agency obliges oil sector employees to cancel unreasonably increased prices

Chisinau, 17 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Administrative Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), at a 16 June meeting, approved a decision on infringements at the formation of prices on the oil products market. Thus, the institution obliged the licence holders working on the oil products market to cancel the unreasonably increased prices.

According to ANRE, as a result of monitoring of the way of formation and change of the selling retail prices for oil products, decision-makers found out that the increases in selling prices for oils products by economic agents on 14-16 June 2021 are out of the legal framework.

“With the entrance into force of the amendments to the law on the oil products market, the licence holders are to establish the prices based on the methodology of calculation and enforcement of prices for oil products, elaborated and approved by the National Energy Regulatory Agency, taking into account the general norms of calculation and enforcement of the prices for the main oil products, established in the Annex to the Law,’’ ANRE said.

Thus, the selling prices for oil products, established will 13 June 2021 (24:00) cannot be increased by sellers till the entrance into force of the new methodology approved by ANRE, which is presently under state registration at the Justice Ministry.

Also, in order to counteract the phenomenon of illegal changes of the selling retail prices for oils products with the infringement of the legal provisions, ANRE obliged all licence holders, which increased the selling retail prices for the main oil products and liquid gas starting from 00:00, on 14 June 2021, to cancel them till 24:00, on 16 June 2021.

“All licence holders working on the oil products market ere repeatedly warned that the prices established till the date of entrance into force of the law for the amendment of the law on oil products market (14 June 2021, 00:00) cannot be increased. Otherwise, ANRE will initiate the procedure of licences’ suspension, under the legislation in force,’’ reads a communiqué by the National Energy Regulatory Agency.
