National Day of National Costume to take place in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) on 27 June will organize a festivity dedicated to the national day of national costume, the 2021 issue.
At the event, the National Ethnography and Natural History Museum (MNEIN) will exhibit traditional Moldovan costumes from the North, Centre and South ethnographic areas. Costumes of ethnic minorities from Moldova will be displayed by the Public Association Hoffnung German House, Cultural Heritage Museum from the southern Taraclia town, Regional Historical Museum from Comrat, Cristea House of National Costume and the Complex of Trades Rustic Art from the Clisova Noua village, Orhei district.
According to MECC, the festivity will be accompanied by recitals of the Folclor Folk Music Orchestra of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic.
Also, Șezătoare Basarabia Association, students from the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University, Theatre, Music and Fine Arts Academy will present collections of traditional costumes and the ones inspired from the people’s tradition. At the same time, interactive contests will be held for the audience.
The event will take place at the MNEIN headquarters, in the time interval 11:00-16:00.
This year, the festivity is organized in the context of elaboration and submission by the Moldovan Education, Culture and Research Ministry on 29 March 2021 of the file, Art of the National Shirt – an element of cultural identity in Romania and Moldova, to be registered in UNESCO’s Representative List.
